Tiny Channels, Fresh Collagen

Microneedling That Rebuilds Texture From the Inside Out

Instead of adding a product, collagen induction therapy prompts your own skin to repair scars, refine pores, and smooth fine lines over time.

Microneedling, also called collagen induction therapy, uses a pen with fine, sterile needles to create thousands of tiny channels in the skin. Your body responds by producing new collagen and elastin where it is needed most. Acne scars soften, enlarged pores look tighter, and uneven texture evens out over a series of sessions. It is a steady, natural change rather than an overnight one.

When microneedling launches at Fountain of Youth Élite, it will be performed by our nurse practitioner co-founders and offered alongside PRP as the vampire facial. It also pairs well with skin rejuvenation plans and Jeuveau for patients from Stone Oak to Leon Valley who want texture and lines addressed together.

Texture and Scar Concerns

Skin Issues Microneedling Is Built to Improve

If you have tried serums and peels without much change, collagen induction works at a deeper level.

  1. Acne Scars That Makeup Cannot Hide

Rolling and boxcar scars respond to repeated collagen remodeling across a treatment series.

  2. Pores That Look Larger Every Year

Firmer collagen around each pore makes the opening appear smaller and skin look smoother.

  3. Rough, Bumpy, or Uneven Texture

Micro-channels trigger cell turnover that evens out the surface over several weeks.

  4. Fine Lines Around the Eyes and Mouth

New collagen plumps thin skin where early lines first show, without needles full of product.

  5. Dullness From Sun and Stress

Renewed skin reflects light better, which patients describe as a healthy glow returning.

A Microneedling Visit, Step by Step

What a Collagen Induction Session Will Involve

Plan on about an hour, with a good part of it spent numbing so the treatment stays comfortable.

  1. Skin Assessment

Your provider reviews scars, pores, and skin history to confirm you are a good candidate.

  2. Cleanse and Numb

Topical numbing cream sits for about thirty minutes while the skin is prepped.

  3. Controlled Needling

The pen passes over each area at a depth matched to your concern, with PRP if chosen.

  4. Series and Aftercare

Three to six sessions about a month apart, with simple care instructions between visits.

Microneedling FAQs

Collagen Induction Questions, Answered

What is microneedling and how does collagen induction therapy work?

Microneedling uses a pen with very fine, sterile needles to create tiny controlled channels in the skin. Your body treats those channels as a signal to build fresh collagen and elastin, which is why it is also called collagen induction therapy. Over several weeks, texture smooths and scars soften gradually.

When will microneedling be available in San Antonio?

We are finishing training and protocols for microneedling at our Medical Center clinic and expect to open booking soon. Add your name to the waitlist through the form below and we will text or email you the moment appointments go live, before we announce it publicly.

Does microneedling help acne scars and large pores?

Microneedling is one of the most studied treatments for rolling and boxcar acne scars, and many patients also see pores look smaller as surrounding collagen firms up. Deep ice-pick scars may need combined approaches. Your nurse practitioner will be honest about what a series can realistically change, since individual results vary.

What is a vampire facial, and will you offer it?

A vampire facial is microneedling with your own platelet-rich plasma applied to the skin during treatment. The growth factors in PRP support the repair that microneedling starts. We plan to offer microneedling on its own and paired with PRP once both treatments launch at the clinic.

How much downtime should I expect after microneedling?

Most patients look pink, like a mild sunburn, for one to three days, with light flaking as the skin renews. You can usually return to work the next day. We will ask you to skip makeup, sun, sweat, and active skincare for a short window your provider will spell out.

Treatments are provided after an individualized evaluation by a licensed provider. Results and longevity vary by person, and no specific outcome is guaranteed. Some concerns may require an in-person evaluation or a referral.
